WBTV Sports Director Jim Thacker announces the appointment of Paul Cameron as sports anchor for WBTV's 6 O'Clock and 11 O'Clock weeknight news programs, effective June 22, 1981.

Paul is currently sports director of WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, and has been with WJXT for the past five years as sports reporter, director and anchor for the station's newscasts.

He has won an Emmy award for his broadcasts of Jacksonville Dolphin basketball games, and was nominated for an Emmy for a Tampa Bay Bucs special program. He has been a color announcer on selected games for the Sun Belt Basketball network and has hosted the "Charlie Pell Football Highlights Show," which is syndicated nationally. He is occasionally seen on CBS affiliate stations with stories on the Gator Bowl, the Tournament Players Championship and the Daytona 500.

Paul and his wife, Jan, are looking forward to moving to the Charlotte area, and we are looking forward to having them! Jeffcaster will highlight Paul when he arrives in June.
