WBT Goes In For Hill Billy

During the week of February 11th WBT will bring to the radio audience a group of hill billy entertainers, including such well known performers as Fred Kirby, Cliff Carlisle and the Texas Rangers. The countless letters and requests that come in to WBT give complete evidence of the popularity of the hill billy programs of those singers and players of old time barnyard melodies.

They know how that type of music is done in its original setting, and that setting they succeed in bringing, for all auditory purposes, into the studio. That's why it's so easy to picture the campfire group, or the bunch at the village store, or the corn shucking or a gathering of cowboys, during the progress of their programs. Cliff Carlisle, the yodeling hobo, will be on the air each morning, except Saturday, at 8:45 o'clock, EST. The Texas Rangers are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
