WBT - The Early ThirtiesPersonalities

The Charlotte Observer, Aug. 24, 1930

YOUR ANNOUNCER IS—

Ralph RodgersThe crisp diction of Ralph Rodgers has made him a favorite with listeners to WBT's programs. A comparatively recent addition to the studio staff of the Charlotte radio station, Rogers says he is particularly impressed with the wonderful weather of the Carolinas, the hospitality and genuineness of Carolinians, and the marked interest of southern folks in worthwhile, things like music, literature and charity.

Ralph is a native of Buffalo, N. Y., and—a lawyer! Educated in his home city, he later attended Yale university and was awarded his law diploma, practicing that profession in the Empire state for 15 years. According to Rogers, radio has been his hobby for eight or nine years, and his entrance in broadcasting work was quite by accident, but he finds it so much more absorbing and interesting that he's going to stay right with it.
