Charlotte News Program Ranked First By Listeners

The Charlotte News registered another "first" today.

The Charlotte News radio program, broadcast twice daily over radio station WBT, holds first place in listener interest, results of a survey announced today by the station show.

The survey included expressions from listeners who write to the station regarding programs.

The station replies to each such letter and includes a card inviting an expression on program preference.

Out of a total of 193 replies The Charlotte News program received 69 first choice votes. Religious programs broadcast by the station ranked next with 67 votes; dance orchestra programs third with 65 votes; hill billy singing fourth with 55 votes; male soloist program, 51 votes; string bands fifth with 45 votes; phonograph records, sixth with 30 votes and the other program features trailing with a scattering of votes.

The Charlotte News program with Grady Cole as newscaster has been on the air for about three years.

The showing of The Charlotte News is all the more impressive when it is considered that The News was given first place over not only local programs broadcast by WBT but also the programs presented by the Columbia Broadcasting system.

The News program is broadcast each day at 12:45 P. M., and 5:30 P. M.
