RADIO HOOK-UP BIG AID TO CITY

Chamber of Commerce Flooded With Inquiries Since Big Broadcast.

Floods of inquiries concerning Charlotte and requests for literature have submerged the Chamber of Commerce office staff during the last few days as a direct result of the international radio hook-up of all radio stations of the Columbia Broadcasting company when that system formally took over the operation of station WBT in Charlotte.

Earle J. Gluck, manager of the station, said the broadcast over North and South America cost the system $10,000 and could not have been purchased for that amount.

The broadcast is regarded as the most pronounced national advertising that Charlotte has ever received.
