Appeal Made To Get 50,000 Watts Station

Attorneys for radio station WBT yesterday filed exception to the recommendation of Chief Examiner Yost of the federal radio commission in regard to the station's increase in power, Earle 4, Gluck, manager, announced.

Mr. Yost investigated the station's petition for permission to increase its power from 5,000 to 50,000 watts and recommended to the commission several weeks ago that the Charlotte station be allowed to increase to 25,000 watts.

Officials of WBT, however, pointed out that this was only a recommendation and that they are hoping that the commission will decide to grant the request for 50,000 watt power. Since Mr. Yost's report was made, attorneys have been preparing the station's exception and Mr. Gluck said that he expects to get the decision within the next three weeks.
