WBT Executive Earle J. Gluck

Probably there is no man who is better acquainted with the colorful career and rapid rise in the broadcast firmament of WBT than the station's general manager, Earl J. Gluck.

For Mr. Gluck was one of the little group of foresighted Charlotte citizens who sensed the coming rise of radio back in the early days of experimental broadcasting, and WBT's first transmitter was largely the handicraft of E. J.

Instrumental in the construction of the first transmitter, Mr. Gluck has been closely associated with WBT's progress ever since, until his appointment as its general manager several years ago. His radio career really started during the World War, when he was engaged in radio communication on several battleships of the United States Navy.

An active member of the Institute of Radio Engineers, the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Charlotte Engineering Club, Earl J. Gluck is one of the foremost figures in radio circles in the South.
