Mr. Bryan, 80, of Charlotte, NC died unexpectedly on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born November 21, 1932 in Tyler, TX, son of the late Charles Onan Bryan and Eugenia Havenkotte Bryan.
Ted started his career in radio in Tyler and it expanded into east Texas. During his four years in the US Army he served in the Signal Corp. Following his military service he moved to Florida where he worked with radio stations along the east coast.
Ted joined WBT in the 1970's where he worked until his death. He was instrumental in the development of the Emergency Broadcast System on the east coast and all the way to the Caribbean. Ted also was an active member of the Antique Radio Club and Myers Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Bryan is survived by his son, Charlie Aldredge and his wife, Beverly of Lewisville, TX and two granddaughters, Tess Aldredge of Baltimore, MD and Becky Aldredge of Lewisville, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Frances Chapel of Myers Park United Methodist Church with the Reverend George Ragsdale officiating. The family will receive friends follow the service at the church.
